MISSION STATEMENT

The Wyoming Autism taskforce strives to coordinate capacity building strategies to support all individuals with or at risk for autism spectrum disorders, their families and those serving them, to achieve a fulfilling and productive life within their communities. These goals will be met in the following ways:

  • Coordination between educational, developmental, medical, and allied health services will be supported.

  • Parents, caregivers, educators, child care providers and health care providers will be provided with current, evidence based information on screening, identification, assessment, and intervention strategies for individuals with or at risk for autism spectrum disorders across their lifespan.

  • Parents, caregivers, educators, child care providers and health care providers will be provided with advocacy training.

  • Comprehensive evaluation services developed over time and including medical, developmental, educational, and behavioral components will be supported.

  • Parents/families will be included at every level to provide lifelong interventions for the success and independence of their children. They will have access to information and education about autism spectrum disorders and will be supported in their advocacy for their children and their families.
